Turner Kids Channels Set for Epic 2019


Turner has presented its 2019 Kids Upfront in Sydney and Melbourne, receiving very positive feedback from clients.

Great new content is of course key to this – and more than 2,000 new episodes will air on both its Boomerang and Cartoon Network channels and platforms. At the same time, Planet 1Up – known for its appeal on YouTube as part of Turner’s Mega Awesome Wow brand – is now also making a mark on linear TV.

Cartoon Network

The 2019 line-up includes a wealth of new originals including Victor and Valentino, Monster Beach and Summer Camp Island, created by Julia Pott, animator and writer of the pop-culture phenomenon - Adventure Time.

New episodes will also feature fan-favourite shows including Ben 10, We Bare Bears, The Powerpuff Girls, Teen Titans Go!, Adventure Time and Craig of the Creek.


For Boomerang, new shows launching include the double Oscar Award-winning Mr Magoo, Mush-Mush and the Mushables, and Taffy, as well as plenty of new episodes of Scooby-Doo, Tom and Jerry and Mr Bean.

Data-informed strategies

Turner’s latest New Generations research study revealed that kids aged 4-14 consume more TV than any other platform. With this fundamental understanding, Turner’s core strategy for its Kids channels is to continue to drive consumer engagement via a fan-first approach, committing to further investments in premium content and broadening touchpoints for their brands.

Turner has recently strengthened these connections with collaborations including a Peter Alexander x The Powerpuff Girls sleepwear range and a We Bare Bears Miniso collection.

Mega Awesome Wow

Turner’s digital network Mega Awesome Wow boasts millions of views since it launched in 2017, provides clients with safe, fun and effective advertising solutions. And to further increase reach, its content will be available on Cartoon Network from Q1 2019.

Games, Apps & Events

Cartoon Network is set to launch numerous games and apps throughout the year with popular level-up, challenge-style games greenlit for 2019. Apps will also remain a core digital focus with many popular brands set to engage in this digital space.
