The Winter Codes are Starting to Heat Up!

Let's dive into the first quarter of the year and the bumper line up of sports coming to Kayo Sports! 

 

NRL –

  • NRL 2024 Pre-Season
  • 2 WEEKS, 18 GAMES, ALL LIVE & EXCLUSIVE ON FOX LEAGUE
  • The NRL pre-season is back, bigger and better than ever of FOX LEAGUE with the anticipated inaugural overseas launch for 2024.
  • NRL Clubs will play two trial matches each from Thursdays to Sunday’s starting Thursday 15th February – Sunday 25th February, with a quick break before the start of the NRL regular season in Vegas!

 

Special Programming - Fletch and Hindy Sin City special mocumentary will premiere Sunday 18th Feb @ 2030 off the back of the Live post game show after Live Dolphins v Titans pre season game.

 

  • NRL 2024 Launch in Vegas – Sunday March 3 double header (AEST).
  • For the first time ever, Australia’s most exciting sport will be unleashed on the sports and entertainment capital, Las Vegas. The NRL season will kick off with four clubs competing in the exciting double-header of Round One 2024 NRL Telstra  Premiership in Las Vegas.
  • The double header will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday March 2 (local time), and broadcast live to Australia and New Zealand on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
  • Manly Sea Eagles vs South Sydney Rabbitohs at 1:30pm followed by Sydney Roosters vs Brisbane Broncos at 3:30pm

 

AFL –

 

  • AFL Pre Season (Tuesday Feb 27- Sunday Mar 3)
    • After a long break, the players will return to competitive matches in late February. Each team will have one official practice match, broadcast on Fox Footy.
    • Matches will be played at local grounds such as IKON Park, RSEA Park and Alberton Oval.
    • All 18 teams will be involved in the one week

  • Key Magazine Shows return
    • AFL360 and On The Couch will both return on Monday March 4 in the lead up to Opening Round.
    • AFL360 will run Monday- Wednesday that week

 

  • Opening Round (Thursday Mar 7- Sunday Mar 10)
    • In an AFL first, the first game of the year will take place in NSW in what’s called ‘Opening Round’
    • Opening Round will include 4x marquee match ups, meaning 10 teams have a BYE
    • Games will be played at SCG, Gabba, Heritage Bank Stadium and Giants Stadium.

  • Round 1 (Thursday Mar 14- Sunday Mar 17)
    • Round 1 will be the first time we see all 18 clubs competing for Premiership Points in season 2024.
    • Carlton and Richmond will welcome back footy to the MCG in what promises to be a huge crowd, before Collingwood unfurl their Premiership flag infront of their beloved fans on the Friday Night against Sydney.
    • Sunday Ticket will include three games, will each of those exclusive to Fox Footy (in Vic market, meaning no ch7 games)

  • Gather Round (Thursday Apr 4- Sunday Apr 7)
    • All 18 teams will gather in South Australia for the second iteration of Gather Round.
    • Adelaide and Melbourne will kick off the week on Thursday Night at Adelaide Oval, with Collingwood and Hawthorn closing out the round on Sunday Afternoon.
    • Fox Footy will shift the majority of our broadcast up to Adelaide, meaning all matches will be hosted out of S.A, and our Mag Show’s will also likely travel, ensuring we soak up the electric atmosphere that S.A promises to deliver.

 

F1

Bahrain GP (Season Opener): Feb 29 – Mar 2

Melbourne GP: Mar 22 – 24

 

  • Season Opener in Bahrain will set the tone for another massive 24-race year of Formula One – new look cars, new on & off-track dramas, let the circus begin!
  • F1 back on Australian shores, with the crowds set to be even bigger! After possibly the best Grand Prix in 2023, Albert Park will set the stage for a mega 2024 event

 

 

Supercars

Bathurst 500 (Season Opener): Feb 23 - 25

 

  • A season-opener at Mount Panorama… it doesn’t get much better! On back-to-back weekends with Bathurst 12-hour, it sets the tone for a huge year of Australian Motorsport

 

MotoGP

Qatar GP (Season Opener): Mar 8 – 10

Phillip Island GP: Oct 18 – 20

 

  • With plenty of change-arounds with riders & teams in the off-season… the Championship battle is well & truly on and it’s anyone’s for the taking!

 

Golf

Masters: Apr 11 – 14

PGA Championship: May 16 – 19

US Open: June 13 – 16

Open Championship: July 18 - 21

 

  • With all the changes that have gone on in the golfing landscape in the past 12-months, the majors in 2024 will have more eyes than ever as PGA loyalists & LIV rebels collide on the biggest stages.

 

Cricket –

 

Indian Premier League – 23rd March – 29th May

  • After Australian’s Mitch Starc & Pat Cummins shattered records at the player auction, all eyes will be on the IPL across the two month & 74 match tournament.
  • With weekly double-headers providing great peak viewing times, and more Australian’s playing than ever before, Aussies will be tuning in at levels never seen before.  
  • Glenn Maxwell, David Warner, Mitch Starc, Pat Cummins & Cameron Green headline the strongest Aussie contingent we’ve seen.

 

Australia v India – 5 Test Summer – Dec-Jan

  • Now seen by many to be the premier match-up in test cricket, the Indian side will once again be back on Australian shores to try and retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy.
  • Having beaten Australia in the last three series, and beating us on our own decks in 2021, this will be one of the biggest tours in Australian cricket history, and have the eyes of the entire cricketing world firmly on it.
  • This will be the first time in over a decade that the two sides have had a 5 test contest, ensuring we will see record audiences across Fox Cricket.

 

BBL – 44 Matches – Dec-Jan

  • Having made sweeping changes to the format of the tournament, the 44 match fixture is here to stay after record ratings in 2023.
  • This has BBL14 primed to again smash audience records, with the best T20 players in the world coming to our shores to take part.
  • The Brisbane Heat will look to defend their title, while the Adelaide Strikers, Sydney Sixers & Perth Scorchers will again be at the pointy end of the tournament, retaining their strong lineups.

Netball –

Team Girls Cup:

  • Team Girls Cup is back for another year, from Friday 22nd March - Saturday 23rd March, acting as a Suncorp Super Netball pre-season. 
  • All SSN teams will compete over the 2 days with all games exclusively on FOX Netball and on KAYO freebies.

Suncorp Super Netball - Regular Season:

 

Inclusion Round: 4-5 May (Round 4)  

  • Inclusion Round in Round 4 will showcase netball as a sport for everyone, with national causes championed by each club. The introduction of the round in 2023 enables clubs to hero the LGBTIQ+ Community, the CALD (culturally and linguistically diverse) community, people with a disability. 

 

Pivot:

  • Pivot is your comprehensive round up of the week of Super Netball, with the Fox Netball crew analysing and dissecting all the action. 
  • This begins straight after the last game on Sunday 14th April, discussing key storylines and team performances wrapping up a weekend of Netball action.

 

UFC Fight Week:

  • Our monthly UFC Fight Week Show is back for another year, shown every Wednesday at 7:30pm the week of the fight. Interviewing the best UFC talent from around the world, with regular panellists including Alexander Volkanovski and Dan Hooker. 

 

Boxing:

  • On March 30th, Australian Boxer Tim Tszyu takes on Keith Thuman, in a non-title bout, marking his first major headline spot in the United States. 
  • His upcoming battle with Thurman (30-1) will present the exact type of challenge that Tszyu has been searching for and the eyes of the boxing world will be on him when he faces one of the best pound-for-pound fighters of the past decade.
