New local content keeps coming on TEN

Network Ten’s strong commitment to, and investment in, local content steps up next month starting with the launch of the highly anticipated seventh season of the beloved and award-winning drama series, Offspring - tonight (Wednesday, 28 June)

The following week sees the arrival of Common Sense, the compelling and often hilarious new show from the makers of Gogglebox that centres on ordinary Australians in their workplaces or homes, trying to make sense of the news.

Following the 6 July launch of Common Sense, Network Ten will have local content on the TEN channel from 5.00pm to 9.30pm, Monday to Thursday.

The strong local line-up is anchored by Australia’s premium cooking show, MasterChef Australia, which in its ninth season continues to draw huge and highly engaged audiences on TEN, tenplay and social media.

TEN’s other local content across July includes Have You Been Paying Attention? – which has increased its audience 12% so far this year – Shark Tank, Family Feud, The Project and TEN Eyewitness News First At Five.

Network Ten Chief Content Officer, Beverley McGarvey, said: “This is a line-up that we are very proud of and demonstrates we are focused on delivering a consistent schedule of engaging and premium local programming.

“This year, MasterChef Australia is #1 in its timeslot in 25 to 54s, under 55s and total people, and Have You Been Paying Attention? is enjoying its most successful season ever.

“We’re also thrilled with the successful return of Shark Tank last week, which launched to its biggest opening episode audience ever. Across the capital cites Shark Tank was enjoyed by 750,000 viewers, up 58% on the 2016 series launch – an incredible result for a local show that keeps getting better with every season.”

Network Ten’s focus on quality local content will continue across the rest of 2017. Still to come this year are:

  • The Bachelor Australia with Matty J
  • The Bachelorette Australia with Sophie Monk
  • Australian Survivor
  • More Gogglebox
  • The Wrong Girl
  • New drama series Sisters
  • New drama event Wake In Fright
  • And more new local productions which have not yet been announced
