BBC Studios have a vast treasure trove of video content that is of great appeal to multigenerational audiences across all demographics. More than ever before, it's now using technology and platforms to ensure new audiences view its programs, brands and storytelling across a range of different touchpoints.
Jackie reveals that BBC has embarked on new content innovation projects to ensure it taps into the younger social and mobile demographic. In the US market, it partnered with Snap to promote its Planet Earth 2 series, produced Snap original shows and delivered immersive vertical mobile TV episodes.
The broadcaster has also worked with Google Earth 3D to engage new audiences, while in China, it has worked with Tencent and its QQ social platform. BBC has also optimised content for mobile, created VR video content, and produced short episodes for social platforms.
