FOX SPORTS scoring goals with cross platform coverage of the Socceroos

The road to Russia has thrown up some truly remarkable results, with next year’s 2018 FIFA World Cup almost a story of who failed to qualify, rather than who did. World Cup heavyweights Italy didn't make it for the first time since 1958, whilst the United States will be absent from the World Cup finals for the first time since 1986. On the flip side, Iceland and Panama will feature in their first World Cups.

With 37 different players, 22 games, and 29 months, Australia’s World Cup campaign has been the longest path any nation has ever taken to qualify, but they finally made it on 15 November in front of a sold out crowd at ANZ Stadium. Mile Jedinak booked his team’s tickets to Russia by scoring three individual goals.

FOX SPORTS coverage of the third game of Socceroos versus Honduras also achieved great success across all platforms. FOX SPORTS’ live broadcast coverage captured the top programming spot on STV with a consolidated audience of 331,587 and 38% of viewers. On FOX SPORTS digital, football was #1 in video streams up 20% week on week and the Socceroos came in second for unique visitors with 531, 000.
