The world's best players take on golf's toughest test when the 2012 US Open Championship begins LIVE and ONLY on FOX SPORTS this Friday morning.

Nine Australians will tee it up in the tournament renowned for being the toughest of all majors when the US Open gets underway at The Olympic Club in San Francisco this week.

FOX SPORTS will for the first time deliver LIVE and EXCLUSIVE coverage of all four days of action, commencing its coverage on Friday at 6am AEST on FOX SPORTS 3HD & FOX SPORTS 3.

Headlining the Aussie contingent is 2006 US Open champion and the last Australian to win a major, Geoff Ogilvy, who will be looking to draw on his past success as he lines up alongside Jason Day, Adam Scott, Aaron Baddeley, John Senden, Rod Pampling, Brendan Jones, Alistair Presnall and Anthony Summers for an assault on the year's second major.

Besides the Aussies in action, fans will be treated to one of the most anticipated player groupings in tournament history with three-time US Open winner Tiger Woods joining 2011 Masters champion Bubba Watson and four-time major winner Phil Mickelson.

In another key group, the world's top three players will tee off together when defending US Open champion Rory McIlroy joins current world No.1 Luke Donald and fellow Englishman and world No.3 Lee Westwood for the opening two rounds.
