- Interpret and apply numeric solutions and calculations to business situations and be competent in media maths calculations and terminology.

Junior Media Positions - Commercial Inventory

Want to be part of the media landscape?

We are currently looking for a Keying Coordinator and a Verification Coordinator within our Commercial Inventory (trafficking) team. Both are entry level roles with plenty of potential to progress through the industry.

As a Keying Co-ordinator, the key responsibilities of the role are to liaise with advertising agencies, Foxtel channels and the MCN sales team to ensure all commercial material is delivered and scheduled in line with client instruction and Foxtel deadlines. This role demands accuracy and attention to detail of the highest standard. You must be a strong team player within a small team.

The Verification Coordinator plays a pivotal role within the company by managing the reconciliation of on air schedules and commercial Asruns. It involves liaising closely with Foxtel channels and Foxtel On Air to ensure the spot verification process is maintained within required deadlines.

For both these roles, you must possess the following:

  • be an excellent communicator;
  • be highly organised;
  • be self motivated;
  • have meticulous attention to detail;
  • a great multi-tasker; and
  • be beadline driven.

As an entry level role, this position would suit someone looking to establish their career in the media industry. We welcome university graduates, however as we provide extensive on the job training, a degree is not essential. Data entry and/or administration experience will be highly regarded.

Digital Sales Co-ordinator

MCN currently has a vacancy for a Digital Sales Co-ordinator within our Digital team in Sydney. MCN Digital is Australia's largest combined online and mobile publisher. The primary functions of this role include:

In September 2015, MCN will take on representation of the Ten Network's television and digital assets.  In the digital area, the addition of catch-up and streaming service tenplay to MCN's existing network of Telstra, Foxtel, Fox Sports and partner sites will provide a unique monthly audience of 8 million.

Multi Channel Network currently has two vacancies within our Multiply Integration - Digital team.

We are looking for;

  • AMultiply Integration Digital Co-ordinator, working across the Sport portfolio, including powerhouse brands such as the official NRL and AFL websites.
  • We are also looking for aMultiply Integration Digital Co-ordinator, working across the Lifestyle portfolio, including powerhouse brands such as The Lifestyle Channel, T-Media and BabyCenter.

MCN's Multiply Integration team are the creative team behind developing and managing integrated multi-channel advertiser solutions, across a suite of channels and websites.  The role itself supports the day-to-day coordination of advertising campaigns to ensure they are carried out effectively and innovatively. Technical Support Analyst

MCN currently has a vacancy for a Technical Support Analyst in our Sydney office. This is a 12 month fixed term contract role within our Operations, Systems & Development team in Sydney.  

The Operations, Systems & Development department run one of the busiest and most complex operational sales environments in Australia and has recently undergone significant expansion. In April 2014 we replaced the infrastructure and systems that run the business. At the core of this changeover was the implementation of a new integrated sales, commercial inventory and finance system called Landmark.

The Technical Support Analyst will provide operational support for the Landmark application, the interface Hub and reporting solutions. Additionally they will be developing reports and excel macro solutions for the business. They will be working closely with the support team, business users and software vendors to ensure the smooth operation of MCN's day to day activities.

Initially the focus of this role will be around report & query development with a gradual transition into the operational support aspects.

The broad responsibilities for this role include:

  • Create and deploy reports using Crystal Reports 11 and co-ordinate user testing of the same.
  • Maintain and develop Excel macros and add-ins using Excel VBA.
  • Investigate, and diagnose where possible, issues with MCN's sales system Landmark and the file based interface system the 'MCN Hub'. You will then either resolve the issue or report it to the relevant vendor or other third party.
  • Maintain and configure the Landmark interfaces and MCN Hub as required for channels launches or other changes as required.
  • Assist in troubleshooting any other software application issues as applicable.
  • Create ad-hoc queries (SQL) to the Landmark database in response to requests for information or as requested by support analysts as part of investigations into issues.
  • Support our Data Warehouse reporting environment which uses the Tableau reporting software. You may also be called upon provide report specifications and example queries to our Data Warehouse vendor.

We are looking for a knowledgeable and driven individual who is passionate and excited about the technical support space. This role would ideally suit someone who has had substantial (3+) experience in a relevant technical support role. 
 
To be successful in this role you must demonstrate the following attributes:

  • A good understanding of data processing, hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications.
  • An understanding of relational databases and how to write efficient SQL queries
  • Experience in working with Excel VBA.
  • Good working knowledge skills with Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project.
  • Self-starter, self-motivated and independent. Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Sound business logic and problem solving skills
  • Team player, welcoming ideas from others and prepared to actively share information
  • Ability to establish rapport and build effective working relationships internally and externally.
  • Experience with any of the following would be advantageous: Biztalk, Tableau, VBScript, Unix and SQL Server.

A minimum of 3 years' experience working within a relevant technical support role is required for this position.  Experience working in key broadcasting sales systems and an understanding of operations, advertising sales or traffic and commercial inventory is highly regarded.
